This one came from my uncle who was a Mountie up in the NW Territories.

Canadians have an unusual way of hunting bears.  First, they find
a frozen lake, then they cut a large round hole in the ice.  Next,
they sprinkle some green peas around the hole.  When a bear comes
up to the whole to take a pea, they run out and kick him in the
icehole.
