   Programs don't really matter, it is getting the kid interested enough to want
to read.  Once a kid realizes the knowledge and entertainment to be gotten from
reading, he will want to learn to read so that he does not have to carry around
an interpreter (of the written word) around every time he wants to find out what
something says.
