You cannot expect everyone to run sendmail. Would you like to write the TOPS-10 version? The VMS version? The CP/M version? The Apple Dos version? The Ahmdahl UTS version? (We tried to get sendmail up there. It won't.) But machines running these operating systems *already* are hooked into usenet in such a way that they are trying to send me mail. Or is this going to be a unix-only (specifically Berkeley unix no less!) network? If you think so, then you get to get rid of the non-unix sites... I'm not doing that one either.
