AT&T will enter the small business computer field after Jan. 1., with its 3B5, which has a variety of office applications, including word processing. Because the new machine embodies technology derived from ESS systems, AT&T says it will be far more reliable than most computers. The 3B5 includes a 32-bit microprocessor, AT&T's new 256K RAM, and Bell Labs' UNIX operating system.
