Mario Cuomo (D) of New York will sign an executive order next week which will prohibit discrimination in hiring and personnel practices within New York State agencies based on sexual preference. (The term homosexuality was specifically mentioned.) Unfortunately this executive order only applies to employment policies within New York State agencies and does not affect possible discrimination in "non-state" employment, housing, accommodations, etc. But at least it is one small step forward in treating all people equally rather than based upon irrelevant criteria. as ever, j.r. {allegra, seismo}!rochester!ritcv!jrc
