I also believe that at the current arms levels, we could detonate the 
missles in our own country and still destroy the world with radiation.
On the other hand, it is not the power that you actually have which will
prevent an agressor from attacking but the perception that they have of
your power.
A woman walking in Central Park at night may be well able to defend herself
but I suspect she will be defending herself more often than a man who is
less well prepared.
