The Republican 'invitations' could have been mailed to any number of
convenient lists.  For instance, have you ever voted in a Republican
primary? I have (trying to get them to select someone I actually would
have voted for), and I assumed that's why I got one.  But they might
have used almost any mailing list with good demographics (they want,
after all, people with disposable income).
