According to the list of active newsgroups just posted to net.news.group,
net.singles and net.social are for the following subject matter:

    net.singles   Newsgroup for single people, their activities, etc.
    net.social    Like net.singles, but for everyone.

Sounds to me as if net.social must be the right newsgroup in which to
discuss the social lives of married couples, families, and anybody else
who isn't (or isn't necessarily) single.
