Over the summer, i got to meet Lauren Weinstein. I do not know what it was that I expected him to look like, but I do know that it wasn't what i got to see. It was quite surprising. Over dinner, (there were a lot of people at that dinner) I developed a migraine headache. So I sat there and *listened*... and... it was the same Lauren. He writes the way that he speaks. I found the whole thing quite amusing. I have lousy vision, and the crummiest visual memory of anyone that I know. I quite seriously could not give you a visual discription of my mother, let alone Lauren Weinstein. So if I can build a visual image that is strong enough that I can experience strong dissonance when the original does not correspond to my image of him, how much worse it must be for the people who think primarily visually.
