San Diego, Computer Center Lines: 16 Personally, I have noticed a trend in American life wherein women who are married often opt not to have children, and where many single women opt *to* have children, either borne or adopted. I do plan to marry in 3 or 4 years (possibly less, if fate intervenes) and talking it over at this point, my boyfriend and I find that basically we don't want to have children right away - perhaps never. Quite possibly I will "come to my senses" (!) some time from now; but then, i can always change my mind, and so can Carl. I don't expect to suffer for not bearing children. There is a distinct possibility that the two of us will take in foster children or even adopt; if we do that I doubt very much I will suffer from not having actually borne them. They would still be my kids... Arwen
