There is NO chance that this party could interest me, or anyone else more than fifty miles (and that's being liberal) from NYC. Sour grapes, nothing! I just don't think a national (excuse me, World-Wide) network is the place for a localized invitation. I'm not a Scrooge: If there's a conference or something which attracts people from all over net-land to NYC (or anywhere else), and this guy is having a party during that time, he can and should publicize it here -- it is of general interest, because many people reading it will be in the area.
