Since Mark Horton has raised a valid objection to the
newsgroup name - net.sport.basketball, how about another
name for the newsgroup??

I think net.sport.b-ball would work, although Mark has
pointed out that it is vague (however, many call basketball
b-ball, but I have never heard anyone refer to baseball
as b-ball).

So, does anyone have other ideas for the name of the newsgroup?
