Subject: info on troff macros

The device-independent troff comes with macro packages
that can be used to format a paper according to the
specifications of several publications.
Specifically, it includes tmac.jacm, tmac.siam, and tmac.soft.
There is no documentation of any kind for these packages.

Did anyone out there figure out what each macro
in these packages does?
I am looking for a short user-level description.

Any hints regarding the operation of these macros would
be appreciated.
