Another question similar to j.r.'s MASH question.  Barney Miller also
had an actor who appeared in a "single episode" appearance, and 
later became a member of the regular cast.  Can anyone remember the actor,
the character he later played, and anything about his "single episode"
appearance?  Please reply by mail, and not to the net.  I'll post results.
