Maybe the parts that were cut out to make it a one-night movie were the "worst". All the major characters we are introduced to should have died by the end of the film. Even the family hiding in the basement would have inhaled small fallout particles since their air was unfiltered and no one decontaminated their clothing after walking around outside. It was just too limited to show the general effects of a nuclear war: both the worst and the best scenes were omitted to follow the people in a single area. The short time span involved also makes things look better than they should. Dave Newkirk, ihnp4!ihuxl!dcn
