New Haven,CT Lines: 15 I just received a letter from Western Electric stating that they have an update to System V which converts from Release 1.0 to Release 1.1. If you are not paying for support from WE and received your license after Aug. 1, 1983, you will have to pay $1,500/cpu. What is most interesting is their statement that "source code in the update may not be shared with anyone other than those licensees for UNIX System V who have obtained the update from Western Electric". This means that a source license for System V, Release 1.0 is not valid for Release 1.1 ? Interesting...
