One gentleman recently requested recommendations for decks to buy in the
$250 - $300 price range.  Personally, if interested in basic performance
rather than fancy widgets I would get a Nakamichi BX-1 ($300) which has
excellent performance but no fancy features (unfortunately not even
Dolby C which you can get on the BX-2 but it costs a good deal more).
The performance, however, of Nakamichi components can hardly be faulted
and the quality is typically outstanding.
