He gave me a pamphlet describing the whole process in detail. He also said the other European manufacturers have similar programs. Basically, you buy an American model in Europe, drive it around as much (or as little) as you like, then drop it off in a port to be shipped to the USA. The money saved is proportional to the cost of the car. A car costing $15K and up will be discounted enough to pay for your transportation costs plus some expenses.
