I guess I wasn't clear. I meant that it was NOT the story of the
prince from another planet with the rose (which, by the way, I really
like - I have it in german, but haven't read that version of it).

The story is about a prince who cannot walk, is locked in a tower, and
flies around on a magic carpet. 

Thanks to any who might have read or heard of it.
