       I am currently considering graduate school in economics.  In my
  selection process, I have gotten down to eight schools.  Could anybody on
  the net give me an idea of the graduate schools in general and the
  economics department in particular for the following schools:

                                Stanford University
                                University of Wisconsin
                                UCLA
                                University of Pennsylvania
                                New York University
                                University of Rochester
                                Princeton University
                                University of Virginia

       Some things that would be helpful include comments on the atmosphere
  of the students, departmental politics, campus life (or lack thereof),
  and faculty/student relations.  If anyone out there in net.land can be of
  help, I would be greatful.  Thanks in advance.
