Stains in coffee/tea mugs vanish instantly with a mild bleach solution.

Another interesting fact I read yesterday - an article in the paper
said that old tea that is sitting around can be used to clean chrome
appliances.  If someone would care to try this and report back, we'd
all be interested.  Unplug the appliance first.
