Add milk, egg and shortening. Beat until fairly smooth, about 1 minute. Pour into greased muffin pans (each about 1/3 full) or hot well-greased corn stick pans and bake in preheated oven 425 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. For cornbread, use greased 8 inch square pan and bake for 20-25 minutes. Yield: 1 dozen muffins or 14 corn sticks. B. Walsh
