Maybe the dinos did blow themselves away by a nuclear exchange. (on the other hand, I remember seeing a front page of a recent OMNI that reported that the dinosaurs may have become extinct due to diarrhea...) I know it's pessimistic, but what has the human race done to benefit the world? How many animal species have we killed off? Maybe we'd be better off extinct ourselves... But of course only after I die a natural (stress that word!) death!
