The symbols used to identify a country do not represent the current government, things that happen within the country, or political leanings. They are nothing more than a reminder of what the country is supposed to stand for. They don't, in this country have anything to do with Watergate, Three-mile-Island, or the any other happening. The symbols survive on a higher plane. Besides, attacking a person for his beliefs in symbols is the same, to me, as attacking a persons ethnic background, parents(for teaching such things), religion, or any other truely held belief. Snide remarks about a persons feelings are unwarrented and childish. If anyone believes in the symbols of this country, then so be it. Don't put them down for it.
