Finally, someone has gotten to the nub of the problem. The harvesting of animals in the name of control has this one big problem. Hunters tend to take only prime specimens. I, for one, do find this the objectionable aspect of hunting. I also have no pat answer to the problem. I used to hunt, but since moving to the Northeast, I gave it up only because I don't ike wearing a suit of armour and a red flashing light on my head. Game management or Wildlife Management is a difficult problem for everyone involved. The taking of prime animals from the breeding stock violates the rules of survival of the species. However, some type of control must be maintained. I don't have any answers to this question, but perhaps others on the net might. Just to ban hunting is begging the question since better controls are not yet available. The damn deer just refuse to take their pills. T. C. Wheeler (stalker of furry things that hide under the bed)
