>From my observations, directional signals in Massachusetts
have three purposes:

   1. To tell people which direction you have just turned
   2. To tell people which direction you are not turning
   3. To leave on while driving to annoy people

and emergency flashers have two purposes:

   1. To leave on while driving to let people know you're there
   2. To allow you to park in front of a fire hydrant
