The volumes of logic produced by Marx--and the other socialists-- are nothing compared to the pages of history. Those pages show beyond any rational doubt that there is really only one thing wrong with socialism: It doesn't work. ========== In what sense does it not work? For my money, the most humane country in which to live is Denmark, where the sense of individual responsibility is MUCH stronger than in North America, where individual freedom is probably valued more highly than in any other country, and where the government is Socialist. If this is "not working", so be it. Sure, they are not as rich as the wealthy in some other countries, but neither are too many Danes starving as they might in some less free, less socialist countries on this continent. -- Martin Taylor {allegra,linus,ihnp4,uw-beaver,floyd,ubc-vision}!utzoo!dciem!mmt
