If that were the case people like Einstein and several others mentioned recently as poor writers/spellers/grammaticists would be considered illiterate. If everyone took the extra time to make sure that every 'comma' was correct, necessary and implied the desired connotation of meaning, then there would be very little printed material. I am in no way saying that there is no need for improvements in grammer and writing, HOWEVER, when it becomes more important than what I have to say, then it is being stressed TOO FAR. If you want to play word games, the definitions of the English (or any) language are vague enough and ambiguous enough to allow free reign over interpretations of any written peice. An example follows. "Time flies like a green arrow." That sentence alone can be interpreted in at least four different ways, with four very different meanings. The point I am trying to make is that no matter how 'well' something is written, the reader always has to read between the lines, along with taking what is read in context with the entire peice and topic. Granted, it may be easier for the reader to understand the intended meaning of the writer with fewer grammatical or spelling errors, but the added work in verifying the structure of your participles may actually detract from the intended meaning. As a brief, but short example I give you my last sentence. Do not try to analyze it. Do not try to infer grammatical connotations. Please, just take it for what it is, and go with your gut reaction. &#%@ OFF! Please, do not make the vehicle more important than what the vehicle is trying to carry. (** FRODO **) alias hou5g!jrt
