The ploy of suggestive selling (as it`s called in the business) was introduced to me when I worked for the Colonel. My boss` boss was a real penny pincher, and was always looking to get a few pennies more out of the customer. He encouraged suggestive selling ("Would you like some corn with your dinner?") and whenever he was on the register, he never failed to do it. He was also successful! Just the tone of his voice, his delivery, etc. worked well. He didn`t sound like a broken record like many of these McFlunkies do. I once went back to get some extra ketchup, and the girl was surprised when she didn`t have to ring up a sale, but still said "Would you like anything else?" I should`ve asked her for a date. I can understand the business men wanting to make a few extra bucks. I just politely say "No thank you" and wait for my burger and fries. Tom McO`Connor
