I believe this particular study was recently discredited when it was discovered
that Burt had faked much of his data.  Concocted results and shoddy
methodology are not uncommon among research psychologists, especially in
the university "publish or perish" environment.  I know, because I tried
to be one.  Fortunately, my major professor (Wisconsin's altruism and
aggression maven Leonard Berkowitz, then Chairman of the Psychology Dept.)
and I had a fight in 1973 over what he called "science" and I called
"kids playing with a chemistry set", which I obviously lost.
