Lines: 20 According to my anthropology class, the evolution of intelligence went something like this: Intelligence was a real advantage because you could pass on useful information to people before they went out and got themselves killed or poisoned themselves, etc. Brain size had the fastest change in size of anything in known evolutionary history (about a fingernail clipping volume/generation!). However, once the amount of knowledge accumulated was much more than one person could know, then a general increase of intelligence didn't help. What was more advantageous was occasional geniuses, so they started popping up, supposedly more and more frequently. I don't remember who's theory this was, but I thought it was interesting. - rene -- Arpa: rene.umcp-cs@CSNet-relay Uucp:...{allegra,seismo}!umcp-cs!rene
