Let me make a few statements about this latest attempt to encourage the use of poprer spelling and grammar on the net. I used to tilt at windmills too. I gave up about a year ago. All that my attempts got me was abuse, and worse, articles submitted to the NET espousing the right to either the use of creative spelling or illiteracy. I have come to the conclusion that the quality of language usage on this medium of information exchange only seems to be worse than some others because there are no provisions for "proof reading". In fact, even my local paper's correspondents seem to have the same problem with some of the niceties of language usage that persons who submit to the NET have. May you have more luck than I had in convincing some of the intractable individuals that one's use of language is used as a measure of one's intelligence. I just hope you do not keep this crusade strictly to the NET but take it further. I, for one, have given up the battle. My opinions of those who abuse my sensibilities by their misuse of the contructs of spelling and grammar, remain unchanged. Nick Landsberg
