The official party of MLB is that "we'll expand when it's in the best interests of the league blahblahblah..." It is expected that when new franchises ARE awarded, they will cost in the neighborhood of $20Mbucks, as opposed to $7M for the last expansion. These estimates are based (reportedly) on the recent sale of the Ditroyt Tigers for FORTY-THREE (count 'em) MILLION DOLLARS. Whew!!
