We have several version of Basic here at Dartmouth, with new ones showing up from time to time. The old favorite, Basic7, was a nice structured Basic. (If such things are possible.) But, it did have a few irregularities, one of the most amusing having to do with nesting subroutines. If you neseted them too deep, I think beyond two levels though I am not really sure, it would print out a long explaination of the problem, followed by the line: Don't Hit Me!!!! Due to political pressures, the error messages would come and go, but they always were amusing. -- David C.
