     Two blue ridge mountain men, Cy and Ezra, were talking about
     their two sons who had gone off to college.

     Cy said to Ezra:

     "Ezra, I'm not to certain bout's all that degree  fol-de-rol
     those  boys  of  ar'n, are a'chasin' after down thar in thet
     big city coledge, are you?"

     Ezra said:

     "Wall Cy, y'all know what B.S. stands fur don't ya?"

     Cy, being a man of the world, said:

     "Why  shore,  evrybody  knows  what  B.S.  means,  even  the
     yungin's!"

     Ezra said:

     "Wall, a B.S.'s the first thing they get.  Then  after  they
     work at it for some more time they get what's called a M.S.,
     that means More of the Same.  Than,  they  gets  to  workin'
     some more and after a'while they gets whats called a P.H.D."

     Cy said:

     "Wall whats a P.H.D. mean?"

     Ezra said:

     "Wall, a P.H.D. stand fur piled higher and deeper."
