As they passed over Germany, the captain announced: "Ladies and Gentlemen, if you look out the right side of the plane, you will see Germany." All the Germans went to see and were suitably pleased. Later, as they were passing over Italy, the captain announced: "Ladies and Gentlemen, if you look out the right side of the plane, you will see Italy." All the Italians rushed to look and were similarely pleased. Later, as they were flying over Poland, the Captain announced: "Ladies and Gentlemen, if you look out the left side of the plane, you can see Poland." *ALL* the Poles rushed to the left side of the airplane, overbalancing it and causing it to crash to the ground. The moral: "Poles in the left hand plane cause instability." From the Pooped Paws of: Suk Lee ..!{decvax,linus,allegra}!utzoo!utcsrgv!spoo --Heard in a 6.003 lecture long ago.
