Then there's always the one about the female Spanish student who, having
already put her foot in her mouth once in the conversation, wanted to say
that she was embarassed.  What she said was "Estoy embarasada", which is
perfectly clear Spanish but unfortunately doesn't mean "I'm embarassed."
Instead it means "I'm pregnant."

In Mexico, the generic term for Coca-Cola(tm) and similar drinks isn't
"una cola", as you might expect, but "una coca", for the simple reason
that "cola" means "tail".  If a tourist walks into a cafe and says,
"Una cola, por favor", he's liable to be directed around the corner to
the nearest brothel.
