He was doing quite well with his Spanish class Spanish until the waitress asked if anyone wanted more coffee. He said he would like a little, at which point the waitress slapped him and his hosts rolled on the floor in laughter. It was finally explained to him that he had used a local idiomatic phrase asking for a little of something other than coffee.
