I received a couple of flames by mail chastising me for stating that
"I am appalled to see such views expressed on the net". In deference
to the official position that rotated jokes may contain anything the
poster (in his sole discretion) deems to be funny, let me rephrase that:

" I didn't see anything funny whatsoever about Dennis Ward's "joke".
  The implication that (a) it is a wife's duty to do housework for
  her husband, and (b) that if she doesn't he has a right to beat her
  up, is hardly amusing. Wife battering is a serious problem in our
  society. While Mr. Ward has the right to post anything he wishes
  to net.jokes in rotated form, I am, frankly, appalled that he would
  seek to encourage this kind of attitude.                             "
