Since that news submission, our department has received the 4.2 distribution tapes, and I fished the apl out of them. It turns out that it is indeed Tony Reeves and John Bruner's purdue apl with only slight modifications. The 'asgn to label' problem I was having was a bug that does not manifest itself on 4.1 systems. The other changes involved the editor that is gotten in response to ")editf" and ")del" and the location of the system library. The apl that is distributed with 4.2 unix compiles and works on 4.1c unix systems. Actually, I have not tried it on a 4.2 system yet. - Greg Johnson gjohnson@cornell
