We originally intended to buy dBase II because it seemed too meet all our needs. However, on closer examination, it fell short in one area - max number of fields per record. dBase II only allows a max of 32 fields per record and we need 48. Our other requirements include: a. 6000 records per data base file. b. 1000 characters per record. c. 250 characters per field. All of these requirements refer to max capability needed. We also want it to be able to perform sorts and searches of the data base in a timely manner (under five minutes). If anyone has experience with a DBMS meeting these specs, please reply to me directly. I will summarize to the net if there is enough interest. Thanks in advance. Alan E.
