Message-ID: <189@hou2d.UUCP> Date: Wed, 21-Dec-83 14:57:39 EST Article-I.D.: hou2d.189 Posted: Wed Dec 21 14:57:39 1983 Date-Received: Sat, 24-Dec-83 11:24:11 EST Organization: Bell Labs, Holmdel NJ Lines: 19 I'd like to thank everyone who took the time to reply to my request for advice on getting a KAYPRO II to emulate a terminal. Based on the responses I received, I was able to determine that my machine had a hardware problem and not an incorrect configuration or a design flaw. The problem was fixed by a brute force repair by my dealer (replacement of the mother board). A quick summary of the replies I received: -The KAYPRO should work fine with various modems at reasonable line speeds (e.g., 1200 baud). Also, the MODEM7 and KMDM795 modem programs provide decent uploading/downloading file transfer capability. -It's necessary to match the terminal configuration to the desired remote system, including baud rate, number of data and stop bits, and parity (we use 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, and no parity).
