There may be bargains available from Hamilton/Avnet or from major users of that drive who are clearing excess inventory. Try WANG, Tandy, or Xerox OPD. Quantum's line now extends to an 85MB unformatted drive using the SA 1000 interface. They have no plans for further development using that interface. A controller set up for an SA 1000 may not work with the larger Quantum drives if it cannot access the additional heads. E.g. the 42 and the 85MB both use 8 heads.
