They just can't match them on price for the 64. The secret is in the peripherals, add-ons, software, and service. Do what the big guys can't - but few dealers realize this. The smaller dealers would also be happier if Commodore had a new and improved version of the 64 that the mass merchandisers didn't have yet. There have been a few "P128" and "B128"s around, but not enough to satisfy smaller dealers. Give 'em time and they'll have a new kid on the block, but not yet. This might be what your local dealer is talking about. The 64 is here to stay, especially when no one has anything close in price/performance range.
