Posting programs once only allows them to be picked up if you see them. The program directories on the ARPA net allow one to go get them anytime. What is needed is for someone to maintain a directory of sources and have an automated way for people to retrieve them. Say a mail message the first line of wich is an mail path and the following lines are the programs to send. Any BSD system can make an alias to pass this into a program that would then send the program to the addresse on the first line. It would be nice for net.sources to be handled this way. The first posting could be over the net and then people who missed it or came along later could request a copy. I for one would like to be able to get to the CPM sources on the ARPA net. I can think of several more groups that would like to have archives if the technology were in place to make it happen on the UUCP network.
