Who is this "wise man" who feels that if there is nothing worth
dying for, then there is nothing worth living for?  That is clearly
a bunch of crock to get the young fools out there to defend this
so-called wise man's properties and privileges against those who
would (for whatever reasons) take them away.

Patriotism is the one of the most infectious and debilitating
diseases known to our species, but it also has the characteristic
that the person so infected has the main resposibility for curing
themself.  No magic cures, though, just a little thinking about
your own humanity.  Try it some time soon.

Quoting another wise person (can't remember who) - "there is little
worth fighting for; nothing worth killing for."
