I had the sad duty to announce the passing of Dr. Angus Pearson,
retired professor of CS here at UT, and realized that there was no
news-group to let the net-community know about it.  Which got me
thinking that I would like to know when a colleague passes away,
and that a group for such announcements might be appropriate.

Sad news is news too .....   and I really did not want to contribute
to the unfortunate glut of  net.general
