Well, Chuqui (cae780!chuqui) is right:  it's been about two weeks since
my original posting, and my proposal for new ethnic/linguistic subgroups
of net.nlang "looks like it will fail for lack of long term interest".  I
got some enthusiastic replies from a handful of people in favor of some
particular subgroups, but not enough support to justify the creation of any.

Here is a summary of what was voted for.  I am posting this list so that
even if no new newsgroups are created, other interested people can contact
the nominators for private discussions by mail (or for discussion in plain-
old-vanilla net.nlang).  Many thanks to the following people:

Oh, well.  I still don't think it was a bad idea.  Maybe there'll be more
interest a year from now.  In the meantime, general linguistic/ethnic/cultural
discussions are always welcome in net.nlang.
