Lisa ~ Certainly! They are always equivalent. What you are probably interested in is the temperature at which they are equal. The conversion formula is: (9/5)C + 32 = F Let's say that the temperature at which they are equal is T. (9/5)T + 32 = T (9/5)T = T - 32 (4/5)T = -32 T = -40 so -40C is the same temperature as -40F.
