I messed up my previous message.

If you do get any Nikon camera, don't use a local repair facility when
it's time for your yearly/two yearly clean/lube/adjust.  I've had
much better luck with

They will do the work and mail you back the equipment even before they
send you the bill.  And the work is always done right.  I used to live
in NY, and I used to go there in person.  More Nikons laying about for
service than the inventory of most big NY camera stores.
